Vidhya Balan in Raana

Raana is a film in which Rajnikanth will be donning triple role after Moondru Mugam which was released many years ago.

This film is to be directed by K S Ravikumar who had earlier directed Rajni in Muthu and Padaiyappa. A R Rahman is composing the music for this film.

At a time when actresses feel that it is a great boon to act with Rajni, Asin has refused to act with Rajni in this film. K S Ravikumar has translated the whole script and sent it to Asin. What is the reason for Asin refusing this role?

Asin after reading the whole script had asked that with which Rajni she is pairing. They said that Rekha is pairing with the elder and Deepika Padukone will pair with the younger brother and Asin is to pair with second Rajni.

Asin after sensing that the role is a small one declined it and said that she is ready to act if she is given Deepika Padukone role. So K S Ravikumar instead pressurizing her approached Vidhya Balan to do this role. Vidhya Balan is an ardent fan of Rajni. Even recently in a programme which was held in Delhi, she prostrated before Rajni and sought his blessings. She immediately agreed to do the role.
