Actress Swathi who became popular through the film Subramaniapuram was not seen in Tamil films. She was missing. Now Swathi is camping in Andhra and is acting in Telugu films.

The story of Raana has happened in the 18th century. Major portion of the shooting is to take place in England and European countries. Deepika Padukone and Ileana have been signed to pair with Rajnikanth. Deepika Padukone will be pairing with the younger Rajni. In order to pair with Rajni, Deepika has adjusted her dates in spite of her heavy schedule in Bollywood.

Since this is a historical story, Deepika is learning Bharathanatiyam and Sanskrit. At this point of time a problem has cropped up for Deepika. The songs and the making style of Jayendra are the plus points of the film. Siddarth is doing the lead role in this film. Priya Anand and I are pairing with him. I am a journalist student. After completing my degree I wanted to join media. But I felt there will be no freedom so I came to cinema. As far as cinema is concerned I am interested in directing and handling camera than acting. I don’t have the ravenousness to become a big commercial actress.

I also don’t want to run around trees singing duets and donning glamour roles. I want to earn a name with my acting skills. There is no necessity for me to act. I am not going to lose anything if I don’t act. I like to act without makeup. But I think because of this I will not get suitable roles. Normally I don’t socialize. I am always on my own.

Some people think that I am head weighted. But I can’t do anything about this. I love o eat a lot. I will eat everything I like. Because of this there was no chance to reduce my weight. I would like to act in good films than acting in commercial films. It is alright for me even if it is an art film. I want to give a good performance so that I willbe remembered even after I quit acting."

Two of my films been released simultaneously. The films are Muthukku Muthaga and Nanjupuram. This is the first time that two of my films are being released at the same time in my acting career.

I was shooting for Kannikapuram Sandhipil at Kodaikanal. People who came to witness the shooting appreciated me for my acting in those two films. Many have asked me about acting in a bathing scene in Nanjupuram. I had acted in that scene without any vulgarity. In the villages you can see the womenfolks bathing jollily in the ponds, canal and lakes. There were bathing scene of the heroines’ right from the black and white days. There is nothing wrong in acting in these scenes if there is no vulgarity. Many are approaching me to act in TV serials but since I am concentrating in cinema, I have refused them. In Tamil I am currently acting in Varnam, Agarathi, Naran and in a Kannada film titled Happy Husbands."

Yester year heroine Sujatha passes away

Yester year heroine Sujatha who was known for her excellent acting passed away. She was aged 59. She was born in Sri Lanka in the year 1952. Her mother tongue was Malayalam. She made her debut as heroine through the film Aval Oru Thodarkathai which was directed by K Balachandar.

 She had acted with Shivaji, Kamal and Rajni in hundreds of films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages. The film Andaman Kadhali and Vidhi earned her good name. She was sick for a long time. She was suffering from kidney disease. She was in a great financial distress since she had handedover her money and property to someone.

It seems that she did not even have money to buy a saree. The members of Nadigar Sangam also ignored her. Her last film in which she acted was Varalaaru which had Ajith in the lead role. After this she did not accept any films. She passed away in her residence in Chennai.

Hari sir asked me to dance for a Kuthu song which began with the lines Karuppana Kaiya. Because of this I danced for the Kuthu song. But I had learnt Bharathanatiyam systematically. But what to do, everybody wanted me to dance like I did in Thamirabharani. Even recently I told S A Chandrasekaran sir that I would like to dance without showing my navel. So he also agreed and I danced for the song Rathiri Nerathu Poojai.

I got the full opportunity to show my skill in Ponnar Shankar. I like to do these kinds of roles. There is also a question that whether I will act in kissing sequence because Priyamani has commented that there is nothing wrong in it. Priyamani is a senior artist. It is also surprising for me that she has commented like that. But at the same time I also ready to kiss if the script is good and if actors like Simbhu, Arya or Dhanush are in the lead roles. If I get a good script, I am ready for lip to lip kiss. I will show what Bhaanu is at that time."

Anushka was resting after attending audio launch of Vaanam in Chennai. The income tax officers became suspicious after she purchased a house in Journalist colony in Hyderabad. Along with director SS Rajamouli, she bought a land on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam.

The officers say"we had come across some important documents of real estate investments at Anushka’s flat and we have taken the documents in our custody".

Along with Anushka, Nagarjuna, Ravi Teja and a leading producer’s houses was also had a tax raids.

Divya changes her mind

Divya said that she has changed her mind and will now be acting in Kannada films as per the request of her fans and well wishers. Producer Ganesh made a complaint against Divya in the Producers Council alleging Divya that she has not attended the audio launch function of the Kannada film Dandam Dashagunam in which she has done the female lead role. But Divya retorted saying that she did not make her presence there because the producer did not return the money borrowed from her in spite of several request.

The Kannada Film Producers Council banned her from acting in Kannada films for a period of one year. But the Actors Association gave a great support to her. In between Divya has made an announcement that she will not act in Kannada films because she has no strength to fight with them.

Now Divya has stated,"I have won in this fight. The actors association and the other good hearted members of the film fraternity have rendered me their support. I also got back my money. My fans are continuously requesting me over phone and in online for me to change my mind and act in Kannada films. Hence I have decided to ac in Kannada films.

I am very happy because that my first Tamil film itself happens to be with Vijay. I should say that this also happened because of God’s grace. Another happiest thing is that acting with Asin. Asin is a very big actress. I was a bit scared initially.

I was worried that how she will move with me. But she moved with me very friendly as if I was her old friend. You have seen our friendship in the film; the same chemistry was also there behind the camera also. There is also a question that how I am speaking Tamil so well.

I like Tamil very much. Because of this I watch lots of Tamil film. I learnt Tamil by seeing films. No one taught me Tamil. I can speak Tamil but I don’t know how to write or read. But I am not capable of dubbing in Tamil. Somebody else dubbed for me in Kaavalan. Since I got the opportunity to act in Tamil film, I will continue to act in Tamil films.

Poonam Kaur has changed her name as Nakshatra

Most of the actors and actresses do not use the original names and if at all they use they will change their names as per the advice of astrologist or numerologist. Falling on these lines, Poonam Kaur has also changed her name as Nakshatra.

Poonam Kaur made her debut as heroine in the Tamil film Nenju Irrukkum Varai. After this she was not seen in Tamil films. Since she did not get offers as expected she switched over to Telugu films.

There she had acted in few films. At this point of time, she made her reentry in Tamil film through the film Payanam produced by Prakash Raj. Since someone told her that this film is doing well and it is appropriate time to change her name, she consulted a few numerologists and astrologers and changed her name as Nakshatra.

Poonam Kaur says this name is lucky because she immediately got the opportunity to act in a film to be directed by Prabhu Deva which has Vishal in the lead role.

Sanusha says that she is not against glamour

The reason is that I get good characters. But at the same I am not blaming Malayalam films. I am also getting good roles there also. But my preference is powerful roles and that is why I prefer Tamil cinema.

I am currently acting in Tamil film Ethan and also donning Kishore’s sister role in Parimala Thirai Arangam. I got offers in Telugu films. But I refused them because I did not have call sheet. I am pairing with Dhilip in a Malayalam film titled Mister Marumagan. I don’t have the urgency or desire to act in many films. I want to go slowly to the top.

It is important for me to do variety of roles than acting in many films. There is news that I am refusing to do glamour roles. It is not like that. I also can act in glamour roles. But I should get the opportunity. Is it possible for me to go and ask that I want glamour roles. I am not against glamour. I will do glamour roles wearing the dresses that would suit my physique."
